Privacy Policy for StepCrush

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Tindrels LLC ("we", "us", or "our") accesses, collects, uses, retains, and shares information when you use StepCrush (the "App").

Information We Collect

• Usage Data: We may collect information on how the app is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This may include device OS version, pages visited, timestamps, time spent, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
• Account Information: We collect your email used to sign up, information you add to your profile, and teams you are associated with.
• User-generated Content: We collect daily step-count totals and chat messages.

Health Data

With your permission, StepCrush accesses step-count data from Apple Health on iOS or Health Connect on Android. The App reads the aggregate number of steps recorded for the current day. StepCrush does not access other types of health data.

We use your daily step-count total to show your activity progress and provide the App's core social fitness features, including team statistics, leaderboards, goals, streaks, awards, and matchups. The current step count may be cached on your device and is synced to our Firebase-hosted service so these features work across the App.

Your step-count total and related team statistics may be visible to members of your teams. We use Google Firebase as a service provider to securely process and store this data. We do not sell health data or use it for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers or other third parties except as described in this policy or when legally required. You can deny or revoke health-data access through Apple Health or Health Connect settings.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the App
• To improve user experience
• To communicate with you

Data Sharing and Disclosure

• Service Providers: We store data on device and in Google Firebase.
• Third parties: We do not share data with any third parties (other than Firebase) unless legally required to do so.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit and restricting access to stored data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account information, profile information, team memberships, chat messages, daily step-count totals, and related service records while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the App.

You may request deletion from within the App or through our account deletion page. We begin processing an account deletion request immediately and complete it within 7 days. Deletion removes your account and identity information, profile, individual daily step records, chat messages, friendship records, team memberships, and other personal content associated with your account. Some step totals and statistics cached locally on your device may remain until they are overwritten or you clear the App's storage or uninstall the App.

Anonymous team and matchup totals that no longer identify you may be retained so other users' histories remain accurate. We may also retain limited records when required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or documenting compliance with a deletion request. We delete or anonymize such records when they are no longer needed for those purposes.
